Owl Canyon

Adventurous Antelope Canyon Tours

Viewing images of the Antelope Canyons online and considering ourselves amatuer photographers, Dani and I decided to try our luck and see if we could recreate some of those world famous photos. After some debate, we selected Adventurous Antelope Canyon Tours. Their website lists them as a quality-guided sightseeing and photographic tours into slot canyons including Upper Antelope, Owl, Rattlesnake, and Mountain Sheep, which I can agree with whole-heartedly. We booked the photography tour that included Upper Antelope, Rattlesnake and Owl canyon, which we visited in reverse order. Our guide, Roman, was a great help throughout the entire tour- helping with setting up shots, choosing settings, pointing out spots from famous photos and even crowd control in Upper Antelope.

Owl Canyon

"This mysterious canyon with exposed sandstone layers that create cliff shelves is the natural home of two families of great horned owls. A zoom lens is a must to photograph the owls and their nests from the vantage points on the tour. This slot canyon is the widest which allows more sunlight for warmer colors, it is known for its beautiful smooth whirlpool shapes. Our guides lead you through this peaceful and calm canyon away from the tourist crowds."
